The Atomos Samurai Blade is a 5-inch on-camera SDI monitor and recorder designed to bypass in-camera compression by recording high-quality 10-bit 4:2:2 video directly from a camera’s sensor.

- Professional Recording: Captures footage in edit-ready Apple ProRes or Avid DNxHD codecs at resolutions up to 1080/30p or 60i.
- Advanced Scopes: Includes a full suite of monitoring tools such as waveform, vectorscope, RGB parade, luma parade, and focus peaking to ensure correct exposure and sharp focus.
- On-Set Editing: The “Cut and Tag” tool allows you to mark clips as “Favorite” or “Reject” during playback, creating XML metadata that speeds up post-production in software like Final Cut Pro.
- Storage & Power: Records to affordable, standard 2.5-inch HDD or SSD drives. It features a dual-battery system for continuous, hot-swappable power during long shoots.
