ZEISS Supreme Primes are designed to cover large-format sensors (up to 46.2 mm image circle) with a focus on consistency, speed, and a “gentle” sharpness. They are built to provide a versatile, organic look that balances modern reliability with the character of vintage lenses.
- Fast Aperture: Most lenses in the set feature a high speed of T1.5, offering excellent performance in low-light environments and shallow depth-of-field.
- Physical Consistency: 95 mm/114MM front diameters and uniform gear positions for focus and iris rings allow for rapid lens changes without re-adjusting accessories.
- eXtended Data Technology: Provides frame-accurate lens metadata (focal length, T-stop, focus distance) through the Cooke /i technology, which is critical for VFX workflows and on-set precision.
- Aesthetic Quality: Known for smooth focus fall-off, elegant bokeh, and a “gentle sharpness” that renders skin tones organically without being clinically over-sharp.
